1.) FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q-1: How much will I pay for shipping? Is it worth it?
Answer: $49.00 for surfboards under 6'4" in length (6'3" and under) being shipped to anywhere within the continental United States - $99.00 for surfboards 6'4" to 7'10" in length being shipped to anywhere within the continental United States. For boards bigger than 7'10" and shipping destinations outside the continental U.S., please call (609) 264-1999 or email mike@psurf.com for a special shipping quote.
If you live outside of New Jersey, you qualify for no-sales-tax. This offsets the $49 shipping cost. So, yes. It is financially worth it to pay for shipping.
Q-2: How long will I have to wait for my surfboard to arrive?
Answer: 3 to 5 business days for destinations within the continental U.S. For all other destinations including Puerto Rico and Hawaii please call (609) 264-1999 or email mike@psurf.com for a shipping-time estimate.
Q-3: What if my board arrives damaged?
Answer: We send you a new board, issue you a refund or pay for a repair. The choice is yours. We will need you to do 3 things: 1. Photograph the damage and email the photos to mike@psurf.com. 2. Make the board available for shipping inspectors and 3. Help us to return the damaged board to Primal Surf (all you have to do is put the board back in the box, seal it, attached provided shipping labels and make the package available to be picked up). You, the customer, are NOT responsible for return shipping costs in the case of shipping damage.
Q-4: Is there a signifigant chance my board will arrive damaged?
Answer: No. We have been packing and shipping surfboards since 2004. In the beginning, we had our share of shipping damage. But, this allowed us to see exactly what shipping hazards were out there. We've shipped several hundred boards, tried several different methods and materials, talked to numerous shipping reps, and went through good old trial and error. Today, we believe our packing method is unmatched by anyone. We take pride in our packing. It is the key to our business and we are confident that your board will arrive unscathed, in perfect condition. We do not charge extra for packing, yet we use about $10-$15 in materials and spend at 1-2 hours packing a single board.
Q-5: How will you pack my surfboard so it's safe?
Answer: Wood. Cardboard is weak, even when combined with foam. Your surfboard will be shipped in a wooden crate. We're not giving away all of our packing secrets, but we have not had one single damaged surfboard using our latest crate design.
Q-6: Can I return my surfboard if I do not like it?
Answer: Yes. Although we have never had a board returned for this reason, we will accept a return. Here are the conditions:
1.) The surfboard must be returned with 10 business days from when the customer receives the surfboard.
2.) The surfboard is to have NEVER been used, waxed or damaged by the customer. Any trace evidence of wax, use or damage will completely cancel out our refund policy. We will refuse the return or charge the customer according to the respective damage and devaluation.
3.) The customer is responsible for creating the return shipment.
4.) The customer must pay the return shipment cost as well as a 10% restocking fee.
5.) If the surfboard is damaged in the return shipment, the customer must pay for the repair and devaluation of the surfboard. We recommend that the customer insures the return shipment for the full amount of the board.
An undamaged return is a situation we try to avoid by making sure our customer is buying the right surfboard. See the "Choosing the right board section"" of our info page
Q-7: Can I order a custom surfboard?
Answer: No. We do not take custom orders. But, please email us if there is something you want that we don't have. There may be a chance we can add it to our next order.
2.) Ordering
2.1: The Primal Surfboards Experience
Ordering a surfboard from Primalsurfboards.com is a unique experience. In some ways, it is easier than buying a board from a brick-and-mortar surf shop. Obviously, you don't have to drive. But more importantly, you can browse our entire inventory, about 100-300 boards, in the blink of an eye. High-quality pictures, dimensions, tail and fin specifications are all available for every single board in inventory. Try checking out 100 boards at a any other surf shop, it would take you hours if they even let you touch them!
2.2: Choosing the Right Board
We want our customers to order the right board. Here are some ways we make this happen...
1.) High-Quality Pictures - we spend hours photographing our surfboards with a high-tech camera and lighting set-up. Then, photoshopping so the color looks accurate. What you see is what you get.
2.) Dimensions, Details and Specifications - we also spend a lot of time providing you the information you'll need to know like width, thickness, fin system, type of tail, model description, what type of waves the baord is good for, etc.
3.) Customer Service - We love it when a customer calls us about a surfboard. You can't physically touch the board you might want, but we can. 2.3: Ordering by Phone
We prefer our customers to order by phone. It gives you, the customer, a chance to ask any questions you might have and we can be sure you're getting the right board. Plus, it helps us build a better business. Ordering a board is a bit more complicated than buying a book from Amazon. Let us help you through it. Here is how a phone order usually goes..
1.) Customer calls - "High, I'm interested in JS#44461."
2.) Questions - Customer: "It says it's 2-3/8" thick, does it actually feel thick?" Primal: "I'm looking at the stringer and it IS 2-3/8" thick. It doesn't feel super thick, but JS has a way of hiding foam to get max flotation w/o making it too boxy. How much do you weigh?"
3.) Purchase - Customer provides credit card info, shipping and billing address
4.) Confirmation - We send the customer an email with a shipment tracking number and invoice. Then the customer receives the surfboard in 3-5 business days.

2.4: Ordering by the Web
Our customers can also place orders, via the web, through our ecommerce-enabled website. On every surfboard page, you'll find a link to take you to that surfboard in our online store
3.) Shipping
3.1: Time
Standard surfboard shipments usually take between 3 to 5 business days to arrive at destinations within the continental United States. Special shipments and all other destinations can call 609-264-1999 or email us for special shipping ime estimates.
3.2: Cost
Standard surfboard shipments cost a flat rate of $49.00 for surfboards under 6'4" in length (6'3" and under) being shipped to anywhere within the continental United States - $99.00 for surfboards 6'4" to 7'10" in length being shipped to anywhere within the continental United States. 3.3: Shipping Damage Policy
In the rare occurence that a surfboard arrives to a customer with shipping damage, we rectify the situation in 1 of 3 ways: 1.) We send out a new board, and get the damaged board back. 2.) Issue a full refund, and get the damaged board back or 3.) Pay for the full repair and devaluation of the surfboard.
In almost all cases, the choice will be up to the customer.
The customer is required to do 3 simple things to complete a damaged board return or exchange: 1.) Photograph the damage and email the photos to mike@psurf.com. 2.) Make the board available for shipping inspectors and 3.) Help us to return the damaged board to Primal Surf (all you have to do is put the board back in the box, seal it, attached provided shipping labels and make the package available to be picked up). The customer NOT responsible for return shipping costs or any additional costs in the case of shipping damage.

At Primalsurfboards.com, our commitment is to offer convenience, service, and product availability on-line at compelling prices every day, with certain limited time offerings of merchandise at promotional prices. While merchandise offered on-line at Primalsurfboards.com will usually be priced the same as merchandise offered at our affiliate Primal Surf stores, in some cases, Primal Surf stores may have different prices or promotional events at different times.

We have done our best to display as accurately as possible the colors of the products shown on the Primalsurfboards.com web site. However, because the colors you see will depend on your monitor, we cannot guarantee that your monitor's display of any color will be accurate.
05. CORRECTION OF ERRORS AND INACCURACIES
The information of the Primalsurfboards.com web site may contain typographical errors or inaccuracies and may not be complete or current. We therefore reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change and update information at any time without prior notice (including after you have submitted your order). 06. TYPOGRAPHICAL ERRORS
In the event an Primalsurfboards.com product is listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error or systems error, Primalsurfboards.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any orders placed for product listed at the incorrect price. Primalsurfboards.com shall have the right to refuse or cancel any such orders whether or not the order has been confirmed and your credit card charged. If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is canceled, Psurf.com shall issue a credit to your credit card account in the amount of the incorrect price.
07. TERM; TERMINATION
These terms and conditions are applicable to you upon your accessing the site/ or completing the registration or shopping process. These terms and conditions, or any of them, may be terminated by Primalsurfboards.com without notice at any time for any reason. Primalsurfboards.com collects customer information in an effort to improve our customer's shopping experience and to communicate with our customers about our products, services and promotions. Primalsurfboards.com may use your information collected online to process and fulfill your order.
